Amanda has extensive professional and personal skill at self-mastery. Widowed in 2006, Amanda sold her home in Los Angeles and moved with her two young daughters to Williamsburg, Virginia. There she enrolled in The College of William & Mary to complete her Masters Degree in Family Counseling and opened her own private practice which grew to include several other therapists with multiple specialties.
She completed a year long running streak, ran an IronMan, competed in the USAT National Triathlon competition, and wrote a book. A long the way she picked up several tools for self-discipline and motivation that she brings to bear in motivating you! She won't ask you to do anything she hasn't tried herself. She will coach you in skills of self-mastery. These are not techniques she just read about in some book somewhere or a theory she heard about. She will help you do what works.

Parenting is a passion. Amanda has developed skills across the spectrum of parenting from young children to dependent adults. Amanda uses positive parenting techniques to support parents in raising their children. Amanda sought out and was personally trained by Noel Janis Norton in the Calmer, Easier, Happier Parenting programme. Most recently, Amanda has studied, written, and presented about her work with emerging adults and their parents. She helps parents help their dependent adult children motivate and move on with their lives so they can, too.
